Cengage SAM2019 Tech Support Info

Below is a list of the technical requirements necessary to take full advantage of SAM/Keyboarding in SAM. To check if your system meets these requirements, simply enter the System Requirements Check. It takes just a few seconds and will provide detailed information on how to update your system if necessary.

Operating Systems

• Windows – 7 (32 or 64-bit), 8/8.1 (32 or 64-bit) and 10
• Mac – OSX 10.9 and later

• Browsers

  • Windows
    • Chrome - two latest versions
    • Firefox - two latest versions
    • Edge - two latest versions
  • macOS
    • Chrome - two latest versions
    • Firefox - two latest versions
    • Safari - two latest versions

  Plug-Ins and Add-Ons

  • Web browsers must have at least of 4MB of disk storage available
  • Pop-ups must be allowed for full functionality within SAM
  • Adobe Flash (current version and one before) are supported. Nothing older than version 11 is supported
  • Adobe Reader version 10 or higher
  • For SAM 2019 Projects - Microsoft Office 365/2019
  • Javascript must be enabled
  • Ad blocking software should be disabled for http://sam.cengage.com
   
  Please Note:  For Mac, some project steps may not be compatible with Office 365/2019.

  Hardware Requirements

  • Processor: Intel Pentium 4 or higher required; Intel Centrino or an equivalent multi-core processor recommended
  • 1 GB of RAM required
  • Graphics: SVGA
  • Minimum screen resolution of 1366x768
  • Color: 32 bits
  • Video Memory: 64 MB minimum, 128 MB recommended
  • Video Card: Modern DirectX compatible
  • Internet Connection: broadband connection (cable, DSL, T1, or ISDN) recommended; a persistent connection is required
