How to Disable Pop-up Blockers

Chrome

To manually allow pop-ups from a site, follow the steps below:

  1. Click the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Click Show advanced settings.
  4. in the “Privacy” section, click the Content settings button.
  5. In the “Pop-ups” section, click Manage exceptions.

You can allow all pop-ups by disabling the pop-up blocker. Follow these steps:

  1. Click the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Click Show advanced settings.
  4. in the “Privacy” section, click the Content settings button.
  5. In the “Pop-ups” section, select “Allow all sites to show pop-ups.” Customize permissions for specific websites by clicking Manage exceptions.

FireFox

To access the pop-up blocker settings:

  1. Click the menu button Firefox Menu Button and choose Preferences.
  2. Select the Privacy & Security panel.
  • Under the Permissions section, uncheck the box next to Block pop-up windows to disable the pop-up blocker altogether.
  • If you click Exceptions... a dialog box will show up with a list of sites that you want to allow to display pop-ups.
  • The dialog box offers you the following choices: 
    • Allow: Click this to add a website to the exceptions list.
    • Remove Site: Click this to remove a website from the exceptions list
    • Remove All Sites: Click this to remove all of the websites in the exceptions list.

Safari

Block or Allow All Websites by Default

    1. Select Safari > Preferences, then select Websites at the top of the window.
    2. Select Pop-up Windows on the left side.
    3. Use the “

When visiting other websites

     drop-down menu to one of the following:
    • Block and Notify
    • Block
    • Allow

Block or Allow Single Website

  1. Visit the website you would like to block or allow.
  2. Select Safari > Preferences.
  3. Select Websites at the top of the window.
  4. Select Pop-up Windows on the left side.
  5. The website should be listed where you can select a setting in the drop-down menu. Then choose one of the following:
    • Block and Notify
    • Block
    • Allow

Note: When Safari is set to “Block and Notify”, you can allow pop-up windows right after they have been blocked by selecting the two boxes in the address bar.

Internet Explorer

  1. Open Internet Explorer, select the Tools button (gear icon) , and then select Internet options.
  2. On the Privacy tab, under Pop-up Blocker, uncheck the Turn on Pop-up Blocker check box, and then select OK.

Microsoft Edge

  • Open Microsoft Edge and navigate to Settings and more: Settings (gear icon)  Privacy & security.
  • Scroll down to Security
  • Toggle "Block pop-ups" to off
