Job Aid: Colorado Online Course Materials and Teaching Resource Shells Form

What is the purpose of the Colorado Online Course Materials and Teaching Resource Shells Form?

The form is to be used for two things:

  1. For you to look up required course materials for use in all pooled sections of a course.
  2. For you to enroll in a D2L course that you may use as a resource to build your own course.

How do I access the Colorado Online Course Materials and Teaching Resource Shells Form?

Access the form at https://at.ccconline.org/coursematerials. First, you will need to enter your S# and authenticate with your password, and then, you will need to authenticate with the DUO Multifactor Authentication process.

For which Colorado Online @ courses will I be able to access information?

Currently, the only courses listed in the drop-down menu (top of form) are those that are transitioning to Colorado Online through Fall 2023. If you do not see your course listed, then your course is scheduled for a later transition.

With regards to timeline:

If your course is transitioning to Colorado Online through Fall 2023, then your course materials will be listed on the Colorado Online @ Copy Access form, AND you will see “Transition Term” in the “Required Course Materials for Students” box.

To see ALL courses and their scheduled transition dates, see Course Transition Timeline. (Note you will need to ask for permission to view this form on Sharepoint.)

How do I use the Teaching Resources? Are they really “optional”?

Yes, these resources are truly optional, and are intended to help you create your own online course. By requesting access to these resources, you will be able to copy some, all, or none of the content into your own course shell (i.e., the designated space in D2L that has been created for your course). Then, you may customize it as you wish.

There are 4 categories of Teaching Resources available:

CCCS Supplied Course Shell. This is an existing CCCOnline D2L shell that was supplied by CCCS. The resource is provided as-is and may not be fully accessible. Where possible, feedback on certain criteria of the Healthy Course Checklist is provided in the form of a course readiness report: basic learner guidance, assessment of measurable outcomes, alignment with common course learning outcomes (CCNS), and accessibility. This readiness report can be found in the hidden Faculty/Instructor Notes Module under the Content tool.

State Discipline Submitted Course Shell. This is an existing D2L shell identified by state discipline faculty as a resource for instructors. The resource is provided as-is and may not be fully accessible. Where possible, feedback on certain criteria of the Healthy Course Checklist is provided: basic learner guidance, assessment of measurable outcomes, alignment with common course learning outcomes (CCNS), and accessibility.

Ready-to-Teach Course Shell. This online course shell has been developed and reviewed by state discipline faculty across colleges using the collaborative learning design process. It uses the required materials for pooled sections (listed above) and has been reviewed for alignment with CCCNS guidelines, the Healthy Course Checklist, and accessibility requirements.

Common Course Framework. This course shell includes instructions on how to apply the Common Course Framework in your online course. There is no specific course content.

How do I enroll in a complete Ready to Teach (RtT) course or in a CCCS Supplied or State Discipline Submitted course shell?

At the very bottom of the form, you will see a “Status” button. If the course shell is marked “Available,” then you will see an “Enroll” button just beneath it. After you click “Enroll,” you will have immediate access to the resource.
