Instructor Gateway Overview/Info

Access the Faculty Gateway through the CCCOnline Portal.

What is available at the Instructor Gateway?

  • Instructor Assistance-ProfHelp D2L Request Form, ProfHelp CCCS E-Mail Request Form
  • Course Tools-Course Verification & Readiness Tools—Course Verification Form, Course Readiness Checklist, Course Ready Form
  • Instructor Services, Evaluations & Teaching Excellence—Course Online Rosters, Faculty QA, Online Gradebook, Student Evaluations, Grade Change Form, Incomplete Grade Form
  • Training & Professional Development-register for training or upcoming events, training history

How to Access the Instructor Gateway

Portal

  • Portal--Log in to the CCCO portal from the following link
  • Click the Instructor Tab
  • Locate the Instructor Gateway Widget>Expand Course Tools

D2L

  • Log into D2L
  • From your Course Homepage locate the CCCO Faculty Resources widget
  • Click the Instructor Gateway link

How Do I Report Student Attendance?

  • Once you have logged in to the Portal>clicked the Instructor tab and located the Instructor Gateway widget
  • Expand Course Tools>Click Course Online Rosters link
  • From the Online Roster list>click the Attendance Register link
  • Complete the Attendance Roster for each student using the following criteria
  • Click the Submit button

Please report on your students before the drop date. Indicate which students have NOT completed at least one (1) graded, content-related activity and received points prior to the last day to drop by checking the box.

  • Check Drop for Non-Participation

How Do I submit Final Grades?

  • Once you have logged in to the Portal>clicked the Instructor tab and located the Instructor Gateway widget
  • Expand Course Tools>Click the Course Online Gradebook link
  • Click the Course link
  • Input the correct grade; for students with an F input the Last Date of Attendance [Visit the Classlist tool in D2L to determine last date of attendance]

How Do I Copy the Email Addresses listed on my Roster to an OWA email message?

  1. From the Faculty Gateway>Click the Online Roster's link
  2. From the Online Roster link>Click the Download Email's link
  3. Download emails by right clicking on the link below.
  4. In Firefox right click on the link and then left click on 'Save Link As...'
  5. In IE right click on the link and then left click on 'Save Target As...'
  6. [Save the file in your MyDocuments folder or alternate location--one that you will be able to locate]
  7. Once the roster is downloaded>Locate the file in the saved location on your computer>Double click the file to open--the file will open in MS Excel or an alternate spreadsheet program
  8. In the Email column of the spreadsheet, append each student's address with a semi-colon
  9. Highlight All of the student email addresses by clicking and dragging down>Copy them using copy command for you specific spreadsheet program
  10. Go to OWA, your CCCS.edu email ; Compose a new message ;Click the To: >in the Bcc: line Paste the student addresses
  11. In theTo: line input your CCCS.edu email address
  12. Complete your email message>Click Send
