What you need to know about the username change
What is expected after your username has been changed to your S number. Your password is not changing.
Outlook Web Access (OWA)
Instead of logging into OWA with “CCCS\flastname” log in with “CCCS\Snumber” (make sure you include the “S” as well as any preceding zeroes in addition to any other numbers, e.g. S00123456)
Banner INB, Desire2Learn (D2L), and Portal
These systems remain unaffected by this change. You will continue using the username and password you have in the past.
WebEx
When prompted for a username and password, instead of entering the first letter of your first name followed by your last name (flastname) you will enter your “S” number, including the “S”. Use your current password.
Citrix
Faculty and staff who use Citrix (citrix2.cccs.edu) can simply use their “S” number (e.g. S00123456) as their user ID and their current computer password.
Office 365
Office 365 uses your full email address as your username. As a result, no changes will be made to your Office 365 login. Continue logging in using your full email address and your network password. (firstname.lastname@cccs.edu)
Mobile Devices
Personally Owned
If you do not receive a prompt to enter your password, or if your device was NOT preconfigured for you by CCCS-IT, it will be necessary to enter the password or account username manually.
Please follow these steps to enter your Exchange/Email account password, or update your account username manually:
For iPhone or iPad.
- Tap on Settings
- Scroll to, and tap on Mail, Contacts, Calendars
- Tap on CCCS Exchange Email (or Exchange)
- Tap on Account (showing your email address)
- If your Username is not greyed out, and you see your previous username in that field, tap on it and enter your S number. (Don’t forget the S)
- If you are unable to make changes to your Username, and you see your S number in that field, tap on Password.
- Enter your current email/network password
- Tap on Done at the top of the screen
- If you see check marks appear to the right of all of the fields in that window, then you have successfully reconnected to your account.
Your device will now begin re-downloading all of your data. Wait a few minutes, and all of your items will be back on your device.
Reconfigure your Default Mail Account and Calendar
If you have more than one email and/or calendar account configured on your device, you will need to reconfigure your default Mail Account and Calendar. You will also have to reset the color of your calendar, if you made changes.
For Android
If you have the Airwatch Agent app installed on your device, your updated account information will be installed onto the device automatically. If you do not have either of these options, or if you have trouble getting your device to reconnect to your email account, please contact the CCCS IT Support Desk for assistance--Phone: 303.620.4357. [Hours: M-F, 7:00-5:30 p.m. MST]
CCCS Issued Devices
If you are using a CCCS-IT issued device, and if your email account was configured by IT, then we will update your account information on your device for you with your new username.
After your username has been updated, your device will be unable to connect to your email, and you will temporarily lose access to your Mail, Contacts, and Calendar information. We will push out a new email configuration profile to your device that will contain your new S number for the username.
The device will prompt you to enter your password for Exchange. You will need to enter your current network password to reconnect your account.
The device will then begin the process of re-downloading all of your Mail, Contacts, and Calendar information.
For assistance troubleshooting this update contact the CCCS IT Support Desk for assistance--Phone: 303.620.4357.
